جمعی از محققان کشورمان در دانشگاههای صنعتی شریف، دانشگاه آزاد اسلامی، دانشگاه سهند و سبزوار با همکاری دانشگاه علم و صنعت پوهانگ کره به سرپرستی دکتر علیرضا مشفق استاد ممتاز دانشکده فیزیک شریف مقالهای را تحت عنوان «مواد دو بعدی در سیستمهای نورالکتروکاتالیزور نیمهرسانا برای تجزیه آب» در مجله معتبر Energy and Environmental Science به چاپ رساندهاند که چکیده آن را در زیر میخوانید:

تولید هیدروژن (H2) از طریق تجزیهی نوری آب یکی از ایدهآل ترین رویکردها برای تولید سوخت پایدار است زیرا فقط به آب و نور خورشید نیاز دارد. برای دستیابی به تولید پر بازدهی هیدروژن به عنوان یک حامل انرژی قابل بازیافت، طراحی مواد نیمهرسانای (SC) نانومقیاس در واکنشهای جداسازی آب هم به روش نورالکتروشیمیایی (PEC) و هم به روش نورکاتالیزوری (PC) نقش محوری دارد. در این راستا، ظهور مواد دو بعدی (2D) با خواص ویژهی الکتریکی و اپتیکی توجه زیادی را به کاربردهای آنها در سیستمهای PEC/PC جلب کرده است. طراحی دقیق مواد لایهای ترکیبی دو بعدی با سایر SC ها میتواند به طور قابل توجهی بازدهی PEC/PC ها را از طریق تغییر پهنای گاف و تشکیل پیوندهای مختلف بهبود ببخشد. سه دسته از مواد 2D شامل گرافن، دیکالکوژنهای فلزات واسطه (TMD) و کربو نیترات گرافیتی (g-C3N4) و نقش مهم آنها در تولید نورالکتروکاتالیزوری H2 به طور مفصل در این مقاله توضیح داده شده است. ما اثرات گوناگون این ساختارهای دو بعدی نظیر بهبود ذخیرهسازی نور، تنظیم مناسب لبهی باند، تسهیل جداسازی بار و پایداری در حین واکنش جداسازی آب در نورالکترودهای SC/2D مختلف و سیستمهای نورالکتروکاتالیزوری را بررسی کردهایم. اثر نانومواد 2D حاصل، مانند اکسی هالیدهای فلزی 2D، اکسیدهای فلزی 2D و هیدروکسیدهای دوتایی لایهای در تولید PEC H2 هم مورد بحث قرار گرفته است.
